ABUJA MAN & HIS COURT-JESTERS

Why can't GEJ and his gladsome group of political hirelings read the mood of the nation, a black clad nation bowed with grief, and halt the circus show planned for today?
Why are they so deaf to the sullen silence, sulky resentment and the deafening tuneless funeral dirges all over the places ??
Why are they so blind to the bland looks and eyes shaded by dark sunglasses, that they still want to do striptease at the grave-site of the mowed innocent children??
Are they too thick; too daft, to comprehend the melancholia and the sweaty frustration that have enveloped the land??

Just what is all these hysterics and loud fanfare all about ?? Another slimy underbelly of a political campaign??

SORRY SORRY OooOO ..SORRY FOR NIGERIA!!!

I regret watching that horror-filled video. It was a video made in Hell and directed by the devil himself *Retching*
Watching it makes me an accomplice too. God have mercy !!

But, what is that mangled dunghill of Africa turning to???? A community of vile men and hatchery for the most hideous of crimes and the most horrendous of transgressions?? Terrorism

, kidnapping, asinine banditry, barbarism have come to signpost Nigeria's international portrait. And, what galls me most is the fact that we, Nigerians as a people, are becoming so inured to blood-letting and blood-curdling stories, to the extent that we are no longer moved with compassion like before. Human lives have no value again to us, as long as the victims are not our children or siblings. It is like we are saying in our minds "next" or "what is new today"??? The jubilant and exuberant noise from the cast and crew and the lookers-on in that scrappy horrific video testifies to that solemn fact !!!

My God, I think we all need rehabilitation !!!! Don't think it is only Aluu Community that need psychiatry evaluation, I think all of us need our minds examined. Nigerians as a people have been violated. Our innocence has been stolen and we are therefore disillusioned, disoriented and frustrated !!! We are only looking for avenue to vent our frustrations!!!!!! And, a theft of a common mobile phone was just one of the beltways to do just that! GOD !!! **Femi Kuti song playing in my mind right now>>>>sorry, sorry o...sorry for Nigeria ***

Terrorism in the North a la Boko Haram, "Cynthia" in Lagos, killings in Mubi...Aluu 4 in Port-Harcourt. Blood, blood everywhere you turn in Nigeria!!! And, you wonder why the Western world gleefully call your continent "THE DARK CONTINENT". Abeg, I wan waka comot jor !!!!!

THE FORCE OF DESTINY

There is no force like the force of DESTINY.
From life first cry to the final breath, it keeps you in the orbit around your life PURPOSE. The force straightens you out, whip you into line, cuts you loose from distractions, and other vanities, and align your vision with your natural abilities.

The force of DESTINY prepares you for your tomorrow. It prepares you for tomorrow's opportunity! Like a heavy-handed Emperor, it represses the yawns of weariness and languor and makes you to roll up your sleeves and work your fingers to the bone.

The quiet force of DESTINY takes you through the mills; through the fiery furnaces, where no one sees you, where you are cooked, baked and refined...so that you wont be a misfit for the PALACE !!!!!!!

WHO MADE YOU A JUDGE..??

When some squint-eyed religious potentates and self-appointed Kingdom monitors get to heaven and see Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and a clean-shaven Bob Marley in the Celestial Choir, I am so sure they would protest to God and display some childish tantrums. They might even organize a riot. They would demand to know from God, how these "rascals" manage to get there. These organized self-righteous, religious bureaucrats would further demand from GOD how these "weeds smoking renegades" beat the cut-off mark and gain admission into HEAVEN !!
And, God would first laugh and then reply the Puritans in an echo-filled voice that, "I have my own private and sovereign supplementary lists. Ha ha ha ha!"
Abi?? Lo ba tan !!! Oro pesi je o...oro di hun!!!!
IT IS BY GRACE!

At the risk of sounding facile and "un-spiritual", I think this Olamide guy is just prodigiously talented. How he's able to crank out such a slew of lyrical rhymes, remain a riddle, wrapped up in a mystery, to me.Well, if you don't mind the cost to your joints and ligaments...If you dont think we are some empty husks promoting some junk "Agbero" music and if the thought of hitting the (dance) floor is already exciting you from your brain stem to your behind, why dont you #GoDownLow,,, #GoDownLow...#Mashiwawu ... #GoDownLow...#GbagbeOshi ...#GoDownLow... LOL!

PERCEPTION IS REALITY.(*private conversation with a friend)

Yeah, about Buhari! Ropo, see, Buhari is his own enemy! You would ask why? Buhari has problem with the use of words! His wrong use of words and political podium cast him in the mould of a selfish politician whose aims and aspirations is to achieve his political ambition not minding if the country boil and innocent blood flows. Of course this lack of discretion in the use of words gives him the bad image he's battling with, up until this moment. For instance, many southerners still perceive him as a religious bigot as a result of his careless talk on religion matters. (Many of these careless utterances are in the public domain ). Again, many Nigerians see him as a blood thirsty demon that should be cast out of the political landscape. And dont forget that in the PR world, perception is reality and image is everything (You know a lot about Branding, I'm just reminding you about it ). So, this image problem makes him a hard sell, even to voters in the middle belt and some parts of the so called core North!

Still on words. There is this thing called C.V.A - Communication Value Added! Almost all politicians in America know how to use it to stunning advantage. It is still new in Nigeria though. But how I wish somebody like Gen Buhari knew how to harness it to garner votes from left, right and center of Nigeria rather than the language of threat, bloodshed, bloodbath, bloodletting (and every other word that has blood as its prefix ) that we have now known him with. I'm not even sure he reads as much as some of us are expected of him. Otherwise he would have come across some books like; 48 Laws of Power and Art of Seduction (by Robert Greene) where folks use CVA to poisonous effect to break barriers and disarm enemies/oppositions; bend walls and muscles .

Hmm, Ropo, history is full of dark personalities like Hitler, Bob Jones, Saddam Hussein, Mussolini, even soft- spoken Osama Bin Laden, who wielded CVA to achieve their 'wicked' desire. Of course, history is also rich with towering figures who use CVA for the greater good. Examples are Jesus Christ, Paul the Apostle, Mohammed, Gandhi, and a whole raft of prophets large or small. Even common sense dictates that to woo a girl, you dont use the language of threat, command and "obey the last order" which belong to the barracks. All you need are words of endearments; sweet words that would break stony hearts and make some nun reconsider her vow!

Another problem with Buhari that I've noticed is this puritanical nature or strait-laced attitude, in another words, a purist mentality of his. Know what? People with such holier-than- thou lifestyle are usually intolerable of others viewpoints (intra-party squabble in CPC ). They wont mix with others to learn how to do new things. They still hold on to antiquated ways of doing things not knowing that the world has shifted by few degrees. (That was part of the reasons why A.D died)

Ropo, the truth is, Buhari is yet to understand the language of politics which is COMPROMISE!!! His unyielding nature and lack of adequate alliances across the Niger cost him some votes in the last election and gave the behemoth PDP cheap electoral victory, you remember! (Dont let anybody deceive you, that shoeless, clueless son of a fisherman won the election).

Ropo, in conclusion, I just think Buhari is a good product in a poor package and the truth is, the sands are running out on him, for he would be more than 70 by 2015 (I guess). He's going to be a liability for any party that would be magnanimous enough to field him come 2015, all because of his advanced age and his albatross - image palava !! Thanks Adedayo

(THIS IS A PRIVATE MESSAGE BETWEEN AKINROPO, AN ARDENT SUPPORTER OF GEN. M. BUHARI, AND I, IN 2012)

MIND YOUR LANGUAGE..!

There's a nexus between Seduction (romance) and Politics (power): The use of language !!
Understand the psychology of your targets, and use sweet-sounding language and rousing rhetoric to possess their minds, before moving on to conquer their bodies (literally or figuratively)!
All human animals are more emotional than reasonable(*my opinion). They want their egos flattered; their nerves soothed and their insecurities assuaged. They like to be beguiled with seductive words and get intoxicated by flowery verbiage. A smart politician knows how to use this enormous power of words to win the hoipolloi to his side... to lift them into the cloud and disarm them of their fathomless suspicion and deep-seated insecurities...and end up becoming a folk hero!
However, blessed is that politician whose words would not take a combustible quality...whose aggressive fixation on power would not drive him into becoming a worst specimen of men. Blessed is that politician who would not breach the boundary of courtesy or lose his sense of proportion by inflaming passion using inelegant phrase or incendiary language.
Elections are around the corner,no politician's out-sized ambition or greedy appetite for power is worth the blood of any Nigerian, prince or peasant!. 2011 is still fresh in my memory! Peace is never achieved by the roll of the dice...it takes conscious and deliberate and concerted efforts of all and sundry. God bless Nigeria.
